The Southern Ohio Cleanup Company’s scholarship program is now accepting applications. A $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to 10 students from Pike, Scioto, Ross, and Jackon counties who have a parent or grandparent who work at SOCCo and plan to study for a career related to science, technology, engineering, arts, or math. Arts careers include majors that could lead to a job at the site like communications, graphic design, journalism, or videography.
Eligible applicants must have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher and be accepted into an accredited college or university with a declared major in a STEAM field. Graduating seniors are also eligible if they have a 2.8 GPA or above and are attending a two-year college or vocational-technical school and pursing a trade degree or certificate. The deadline is Feb. 27.
